Mobile ringing syndrome ( Phantom Vibration Syndrome)

This is a widespread syndrome among mobile phone using community where one feels that his/her phone is vibrating or ringing but in reality the phone's just idle. It can be characterised in two ways one where the subject hears sound in the frequency range of 1000 to 6000 Hz and the brain computes it as a vibration or sound coming from the device another explanation is psychological behaviour of the subject itself.

Apart from this even when the phone is in silent mode i.e only vibrating alerts any small vibration near the place where the phone is kept(pockets) sends a false signal to the brain which assumes that the vibration is originating from the phone itself.

This may be a very small issue compared to the neural damage to the brain caused by microwaves used in this technology but it is something which needs to be better studied, the mobile technology is very new and the long term effects of using mobile phones are yet to be understood.

When talking about this I may also go on and add about people taking out their mobile phones every two minutes to check whether they have a message or notification (nowadays its whatsapp) this may be socially accepted but we should recollect what obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) means and how this clearly fits the bill in this case.

In this new age of communication and staying in touch (which is widely used by cell phone makers to push their products) no matter where you are...We come to our final question, Are psychological getting harmed by these so called communication devices? and the worst part is we can't answer this simple question.

WTF?? (Whatsapp, Twitter and Facebook)
